What Do You Do in Tutoring?
What Do You Do in Tutoring?Do you think that what do you do in tutoring is a job? In general, I would say it is. But it is more than just a job. Many teachers don't know what do you do in tutoring because they think that they don't have any different jobs than others do. But there are things that all of us can do as teachers and it doesn't have to be very different from other jobs. One job that is not the same as others is teaching or even doing field trips. We get paid to do a lot of different things in a field trip. I don't know what does all the other jobs entail but most fields require you to show a lot of different things that students need to know and use.We may need to review material that is new to you. For example, if you teach English as a second language you may need to go to different cultural settings that are different from your own. That's one job that might not be the same as the others but we all get paid to go to different cultural settings all the time.I worked in sc hool districts and I got paid to help with planning different situations in students' lives. If you want to teach an Advanced Placement class, you have to have an area that is not too advanced for your students. You have to make sure that your students have enough context to learn and to take your students to the class. You can also teach a Pre-Service Prep class. The kids must be willing to take up any part of their study schedule and you can teach them how to use technology for tutoring. You can also help with book reading and other things as well. What do you do in tutoring is pretty much the same as any other job. There are many different jobs that we can get paid to do. Just think about what it's like to help out in a Spanish school, for example. I can't give you a job description, but you get paid to help people with their learning needs. So, what do you do in tutoring is just a job that we do.

Everyone Googles almost everything. This is particularly true when it comes to services, jobs, restaurants, gyms, etc. Looking something up using your computer or smartphone is almost a reflex at this point when people need information. This is also true when it comes to those looking for private tutorials and coaching. If you want students to find you, you'll need an online presence. (Source: vesnazajchenko)You can use the internet to learn so many things: IT, cooking, foreign languages, plumbing, etc., but when it comes to sports, itâs hard to beat the real thing and having a coach present in the room with you. That said, web users will still use Google to look for local services such as a boxing coach in their area, be it for traditional boxing, kick-boxing, savate, or Thai boxing. You should have a presence so that if a potential customer near you starts looking for a boxing coach, you show up. There are plenty of platforms you can use for this. Some specialise in sport and others in teaching all types of subjects from academic subjects to the arts, hobbies, sports, and leisure activities.Itâs up to you whether or not you travel to your customersâ houses, train them in boxing gyms, leisure centres, or opt to teach via webcam. You can always opt for all three, too. While it's easier for traine rs to work on technical aspects of boxing like footwork while in the room with their student, a fitness boxing workout can easily be taught online via webcam. Similarly, most people don't have a boxing ring in their own home so there are certain things you just won't be able to do in boxing lessons outside of a gym.Platforms for Offering Boxing CoachingIn the virtual world, there are plenty of sites where you can post your ad and advertise what youâre offering. Sites like Gumtree and Craigslist allow you to do this. These sites are mostly free to use and theyâre generally used for people to find services or buy things. In the digital age, there are plenty of platforms where you can swap goods and services. Whether youâre offering a service or a product, you can exchange it for another favour, service, or product. You could even offer boxing coaching in exchange for help around the house. (Source: Starkvisuals)On these platforms, there are coaches, teachers, and tradesmen all offering their services in exchange for other services or, in some cases, hours redeemable against other services on the platform. Some are better than others when it comes to offering coaching and, as usual, it depends on supply and demand. Here are a few you may want to check out:Swapz.co.ukSimbiCraigslistSwapRight.comOf course, most exchange sites specialise in physical objects rather than services, but thereâs nothing to stop you posting your ad there anyway. Somebody may be looking for exactly the type of coaching youâre offering. However, with many of these platforms, youâll have to take something other than cash as payment. The Services You Offer as an Online Boxing CoachAs you'll know, boxing training is more than just sparring, working the heavy bag or speed bag, practising different boxing techniques, or lea rning how to throw punches. There's also the huge aerobic benefit boxing workouts offer. Online boxing coaches can offer various services. (Source: Starkvisuals)A lot of people a looking to boxing classes to get fit or get in shape rather than to become a professional boxer so make sure that you consider offering these services to potential clients, too. Since these sessions are more like fitness training than working on your boxing technique, they're easier to teach online since there are fewer health and safety issues you need to concern yourself with as they'll be working on their stamina and their fitness rather than lifting heavy weights, etc.Of course, a professional boxing trainer will probably want to focus on a traditional boxing class but these high-intensity workout classes are very popular and a source of income that a lot of coaches would be foolish to turn their noses up at.Find out more about becoming a boxing coach.Boxing Coaching on SuperprofAre you a former boxer with years of coaching experience? Your clients can then leave feedback, reviews, and recommendations, helping you climb up the rankings and appearing more regularly in search results. Youâre rewarded for how quickly you get back to customers and youâll also want to make sure you have the nicest profile possible with a good photo and a title that will make customers want to learn from you. You can also post a video advertising your coaching!Do nât hesitate to explain what your sessions are like, where they take place, whether you provide equipment or not, and the type of exercises theyâll be doing. So are you ready to start putting together your profile?Whether you're offering kickboxing, Muay Thai, or boxing fitness classes, if you offer a quality service in terms, market yourself right, and charge the right prices, you can be successful without necessarily needing to work in a boxing gym.If you need more help with boxing, you can also get it from one of the many talented tutors on Superprof. There are boxing tutors all over the country and around the world ready offering either face-to-face tutorials, online tutorials, or group tutorials.Face-to-face tutorials tend to be the most costly but they're also the most cost-effective as you'll have the tutor's undivided attention. Online tutorials tend to be a bit cheaper since the tutor doesn't have as many outgoings to worry about and can charge a more competitive rate. G roup tutorials are the cheapest per student per hour as the cost of the tutor's time is shared among all the students in attendance. It's up to you to decide which type is best for you and your budget.Furthermore, many of the tutors on the platform offer free tutoring for the first hour. You can use this time to discuss what you're after, find out more about the tutor, their experience, and their qualifications, see if you get along, and work out whether or not a particular tutor is right for you.

Federal Grants To Boost College Entrance Rates
Federal Grants To Boost College Entrance Rates How many college-bound students would like to have more financial support? Sounds pretty good right and not much of a catch. All you have to do is go to college to be eligible for funding from the Federal Government of the United States of America. This funding will be in the form of federal incentives (grants, funding, and financial aid), according to an article in the New York Times. The Obama administration is offering significant incentives in an effort to encourage people to go to college and earn a degree. It targeted college dropouts, asking them to go back and earn their degrees; then it targeted colleges, asking them to take individual measures to increase their enrollment; then it asked under-represented students. The government tried to make college more accessible to these groups and offered them significant funding. Now the Obama administration is begging all types of groups and students to go to college in efforts to add 8 million college graduates by 2020, to once again become the world leader in college graduates. The United States used to produce more college graduates than any other country; however, it now lags behind many foreign countries. Vice President Joe Biden announced in late March the governments plans to create a $20 million Comprehensive Grant Program for states that take steps to increase college graduates. However, the government will put even more dollars in education. It also proposed a $123 million First in the World program for colleges that keep tuition low, move students through college faster and produce more graduates along with $50 million in College Completion Incentive Grants that would reward states and schools that produce more college graduates. We all know that the best jobs and fastest-growing firms will gravitate to countries, communities and states with a highly qualified work force, said Secretary of Education Arne Dunca. To determine how much funding certain states receive, the Obama administration will calculate the states estimated share of the eight-million-graduate increase and consider its current college graduation statistics. Currently, only 28% of young adults in Arkansas, Nevada and New Mexico have college degrees, compared to more than 50% in the District of Columbia, Massachusetts and North Dakota. Essentially, the government is trying to make it easier for people to enroll in college. Its hoping to decrease the cost of college by keeping tuition costs relatively low, offering more funding to students and states and making it more accessible to people of all ages. Nearly three-quarters or young adults pursue some form of a postsecondary degree; however, fewer than half actually earn a degree or certificate within six years. For America to achieve its goal of ranking first in the world by 2020, every American would have to get at least one year of post-high-school education.

With all the students sharing the cost of the tutor's time, these tutorials are usually the cheapest per person per hour but each student won't get the bespoke tutoring or one-on-one time that they would in the other types of tutorials.Online tutorials are similar to face-to-face tutorials with the main difference being that the tutor isn't physically in the room with you. Thanks to services like Skype, a tutor can teach you remotely using a webcam and an internet connection. Since the tutor isn't in the room with you, this can make hands-on skills like crochet a little trickier. However, without travel costs, the tutor can charge their student less per hour.

Heres the crazy thing: a few of these kids go to my church and I could actually sense a visible and material signs of stress in their faces, voices, and in their mannerisms. In sum, these are some stressed out kids. Now, if you take my experience and multiply that by the tens of thousands of high school kids worrying about the ACT Test and the SAT Test, but also the college students stress from their classes the cumulative effect of all of that stress cannot possibly be good for anybody. Certainly not good. Now, Im an expert on meditation or anything, but I have some experience with stress and have meditated through my practice of martial arts. And, keep in mind, I graduated from Brigham Young University in 3 years while I worked 20 hours per week to support my wife and 2 kids. Later, I graduated from a top 5 graduate school while trying to juggle being a husband and dad to 3 kids. I have stared stress in the eyeballs and have won that staring contest! So, here are some suggestions from someone who has dealt with stress and isnt actually very stressed much anymore: Close your eyes and Breathe: Simple, I know. Seriously, turn away from what ever you were doing, close your eyes, and breathe. Breathe for several minutes by inhaling through your nose and exhaling out your mouth. Heres an important tip when you inhale, do not stick your chest out, instead stick your stomach out. Thats how babies breathe. Try it for several minutes. It will help you relax. Exercise and Sweat: For real get up and do something. When you are exercising, you are breathing. And, oxygen in your body is good. And, when you sweat, you are also releasing toxins (dont quote me on that one). Believe me exercise is good. It will help your mind relax. Drink Healthy Herbal Tea: I like chamomile and apple spice, but you can drink any healthy herbal tea. Warm tea will help you relax and the herbs will revive your mind. Go some place high: Go on your roof or on top of a tree or on top of a hill. If you can see the landscape and broad land beyond you, you will gain perspective. And, when you stressed, gaining the proper perspective will neutralize most stressful situations. Pray: If you are religious, then pray to your God. If not, then pray to something higher than yourself. It will bring you a sense of humility and help you realize that theres more to this world than your problems. Give these student stress tips a try. I hope they help you out.
How to Study Science The Art of Understanding Tough Topics
How to Study Science The Art of Understanding Tough Topics We were all students once, so we all remember the much-dreaded or much-anticipated âscience class.â The suffixes â-ologyâ and â-istryâ still haunt some of us to this day. You may have blocked them out, but remember these conversations?âDid you cram for that terminology quiz? âI totally bombed the last lab report.â âWere you up until 3 AM too?âIt shouldnt come as a shock to learn that students now arent much different. And how do they study science topics to prepare for tests? By cramming and memorizing, depending on short-term memory to do well on the exam! While a strong academic performance in a science class can be a students major point of pride, the same class can also result in crushing defeat if approached poorly. Because of this, we often see students studying long into the night with cram guides, flashcards, and redundant problem sets in order to capture that elusive, sought-after A.But what if that isnât the right way for students to study science? At AJ Tutoring, we encourage creatively distilling complex material into an engaging and productive learning experience for our students. We recognize that every student has a unique way of learning that works best for them. And so, traditional methods of studying for science classes might not be the best for students with a drive to understand why instead of what.To address these needs, our tutors use studying strategies inspired by the liberal arts, such as effective note-taking, flashcard exercises, and qualitative case studies. We aim to help students move away from rote memorization and toward deeper and more comprehensive learning.Try some of these methods next time youâre studying for a chemistry (chemistry tuition), physics, or biology quiz!Five Effective Ways to Study ScienceConnect concepts to real-world examples whenever possible, like understanding thermodynamics with a boiling pot of water or neuroanatomy with Phineas Gage.Use flashcards to create situations. Randomly pick five cards from different topics and finding a way to connect them together in the same situation. If youre studying with someone, use teach-backs! Become a teacher and try to explain a concept or come up with an example for your friend to solve.Study in real time! Find examples of plant biology on a walk in the park, or behavioral psychology while waiting in line for a movie.Ask âWhy?â as much as you can. Being able to explain why a ball rolls down a hill, or why melatonin makes us sleepy, is the key to moving away from memorization and toward deeper learning.
